Ramakrishna Mission's New Campus

Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, was started in April 2005 in the same building where the Ramakrishna Math is situated. As the present building is inadequate for making any significant expansion of the Mission activities, we have taken 10 acres of land in the upcoming satellite township at Putlampalli village in the outskirts of Kadapa town near the famous Palamkonda foothills & RIMS campus.

On 26 August 2005, Puja was performed at the new site and the foundation for the Monks' Quarters was laid by Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. The function was presided by Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji, President, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. Sri Ashok Kumar, IAS, Collector, Kadapa, and Sri Vivekananda Reddy, MP, Kadapa, were the Chief Guests.

Construction Progresses

Construction work at the new campus is progressing well. In the monks' quarters, structure upto first floor is ready and walls of ground floor are going on. In students' home, columns upto plinth beam have been cast and further work is on. Compound wall is nearing completion. The bore-well continues to give 7500 lts. of water per hour. Electric supply has stabilized at the site. All the works, at the same time have exhausted substantial amount of our funds.

Sabhangana as envisaged in the master plan also has been taken up for construction. This as you may know is a simple 150'x50' open hall with asbestos roofing, stage, flooring and other facilities. This will be used for multifarious activities of the Ashrama such as Yoga and meditation classes, Discourses and Antaryoga sessions, Narayana Seva(poor feeding) and devotees feeding, cultural programmes & indoor games for proposed school and hostel children, etc. It has been tentatively decided to complete the structure of the Sabhangana by 12th January 2007 - The Swami Vivekananda Birth day and National youth Day. The estimated cost of the same is Rs. 20.00 Lakhs. Though we do not have any funds for this, because of the urgent necessity of the same, work has been started. We appeal to our friends and well wishers for generous donations.

Volunteers Needed

Given the fact that the activities of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission will now be split between the two centres - the old city centre where normal activities will continue while the Monks will shift to the new campus, committed devotee volunteers are in urgent need to help with the various activities. Kindly get in touch with us for more details.

Sponsors Welcome

The Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Kadapa invites individuals and corporates to sponsor the construction and operationalization of the various units of the New campus - viz., the Sri Ramakrishna Vidya Kendra (School), Sri Sharada Devi Health Centre, Swami Vivekananda Human Resources Development Institute etc. These donors will be appropriately acknowledged with the installation of donor slabs in the building.
